| The
development of lay ministers is one of the three priorities in the Diocesan
Pastoral Plan. This year, seven (7) neighboring parishes* are offering a "Parish
Faith Formation" course in February and March. This is an
introductory program for persons currently serving or interested in serving
in parish ministries. It is also open to Catholics who want to learn
more about their faith. The parish faith formation program (previously
called Parish Ministry Formation) has been
developed to provide a current updating of the core elements of the
Catholic faith and to ground all participants in the teachings of the
post Vatican II Church, prior to taking training for a specific ministry
area. It provides a common basic foundation for all parish volunteer
ministers and covers material that is common to the basic preparation for
each ministry.
*Christ the King, Most Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. John
Vianney, St. Maria Goretti, St. Patrick and St. Francis of Assisi. |
